Combat

Dungeons, the Mega Boss and the Underworld

The Eternal Outpost, a skull structure on the OraclePvP map

Once your island earns without you, combat is where the game opens up. There are three tiers to it: dungeons, the Mega Boss and the Underworld.

The six dungeons

Six dungeons, each tougher and better paid than the last. Dungeon 1 pays $6 and 4 mobcoins a kill; dungeon 6 pays $24 and 30. Every kill also gives +3 Slaying XP. Mobcoins spend at /mobcoinshop.

Minibosses spawn among the normal mobs at roughly 1 in 2,000 kills, more often deeper in, and drop 3 Dungeon keys, 2,000 mobcoins and 100 Slaying XP.

Getting a Mega Boss key

Three routes:

  • Normal mob kills in dungeons 4, 5 and 6 only, at roughly 1 in 40,000, 1 in 33,000 and 1 in 29,000 respectively.
  • Opening a Dungeon crate.
  • Wearing the Aztec, Celestial, Cryptbane, Spring or Underworld armour sets, which can roll one for you.

If you specifically want Mega Boss fights, dungeon 6 is where to grind, both for the best rate and the best per kill pay.

The Mega Boss fight

It is a solo fight to the death. Win and you get one of: 50,000 mobcoins, 32 amethyst blocks, 16 resin blocks, 8 honeycomb blocks or 2 creaking hearts, each at 19.8%, with a 0.99% roll for 40 Dungeon keys.

One quirk worth knowing: if another player starts a Mega Boss fight while yours is running, your fight ends early and you still get the full reward.

The Underworld

The Underworld is a world of 15 hellish biomes, and each one is a boss arena. Once an hour a biome is picked at random and its boss wakes up. It stays for 59 minutes or until it dies, so there is essentially always one to fight. Server warnings fire at 30 minutes, 5 minutes, 1 minute and 30 seconds before each spawn.

Only the top three damagers get paid. This is not a damage scaled free for all. When the boss dies the server ranks everyone who hit it and pays 1st, 2nd and 3rd only, in Fighting keys, creaking hearts and Slaying EXP, climbing steeply with boss tier.

That single rule is why gear matters here more than anywhere else on the server. Turning up in mid tier armour to a contested boss means doing the work for none of the pay. The Celestial set at x3.5 boss damage and Underworld at x3 are the two that decide those placements, covered in the armour sets guide.

PvP events

  • King of the Hill, once an hour: hold the Warzone platform for 2 minutes for 25 Fighting keys and 6 creaking hearts. PvP is on and contested.
  • Eternal Outpost: hold the zone 60 seconds, faster with teammates, for an island wide 1.5x sell booster that stacks on your rank bonus.
  • Gladiator Arena: a no escape pit. Watch from above or drop in, but only one person walks out.
  • Vote Party: 100 server votes pops a pinata at spawn. The final hit takes 5 of every crate key, 25 keys in total.

Three ways: normal mob kills in dungeons 4, 5 and 6 at roughly 1 in 40,000, 1 in 33,000 and 1 in 29,000; opening a Dungeon crate; or wearing the Aztec, Celestial, Cryptbane, Spring or Underworld armour sets, which can roll one.

How often does an Underworld boss spawn?

Once an hour a random biome is chosen and its boss wakes. It stays for 59 minutes or until it dies, so there is nearly always one up.

Who gets the Underworld boss rewards?

Only the top three damagers. The server ranks everyone who hit the boss when it dies and pays 1st, 2nd and 3rd, which is why gear matters more here than anywhere else.
